2009 Games-'Bring It!!'
2009 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Arizona Police and Fire Games and It is my goal to make the 2009 games one to remember.
Lets be honest, we are all competitors by nature. We had to compete to get our jobs, we had to compete while in an academy and we had to compete to complete our rookie year. Even today we are either fighting crime or fighting fires. It is my mission to bring more to the games than just the competitions.
We are planning a Opening Day social mixer on Wednesday April 8th at the host hotel, Holiday Inn. This will provide an opportunity for you to meet your competition. We encourage you to bring coins and patches to exchange.
In addition to the mixer we are in the process of arranging discounted tours to local attractions. So now you can bring the entire family and make it an Easter vacation. We have arranged for the low rates at the host hotel to be offered 3 days prior and 3 days after the games.
We encourage you to stay at the Holiday Inn so that you can also participate in Darts that are being held Thursday night and Poker that is being held Friday night.
We will end the games with the crowd favorite event of boxing. The boxing event will rival that of a Las Vegas venue. We will have DJ Al for the event, ring girls, local vendors, raffle prizes and the drawing of a 4 day cumulative 50/50 raffle. So request your vacation time now and make your reservations early. 2009 will not be the year to miss.
